‎ ‎Chioma Adeleke Returns to Instagram with Heartfelt Tribute to Late Son Ifeanyi

‎Chioma Adeleke, wife of Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made an emotional return to Instagram after nearly three years of silence, following the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in October 2022.

‎The chef and mother of twins made her comeback on Thursday with a heartfelt tribute to her late son, sharing a photo of her wedding bouquet adorned with a small picture of Ifeanyi, who tragically drowned at the age of three in a swimming pool at the family’s Banana Island residence in Lagos.

‎In her heartfelt post, Chioma wrote, “My best friend walked me into forever…. Ify, you’re on my mind every day and you live in my heart. Always and forever. Love, mummy. The post also featured her stunning diamond wedding ring, resonating deeply with fans and celebrities alike. the comment section was filled with an outpouring of love and support. Nigerian celebrities, including Nkechi Blessing, who wrote, “Oh, she’s back online. Welcome mine,” and Wizkid’s first babymama, Shola Ogudugu, who commented, “Breath of fresh air,” joined fans in celebrating Chioma’s strength and return.

‎Davido, who also honored Ifeanyi during their recent Miami wedding on August 10, 2025, by wearing cufflinks engraved with his son’s image, responded to Chioma’s post with a touching, “Till Infinity.” The couple’s white wedding, a grand finale to their love story following a court marriage in March 2023 and a traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024, had captivated fans all over the world.

‎Ifeanyi’s passing, just days after his third birthday, sent shockwaves through Nigeria and beyond, stirring widespread sympathy for the celebrity couple. Since the tragedy, Chioma had maintained a low profile on social media, with her last update prior to this being on Ifeanyi’s third birthday in October 2022.

‎Fans and well-wishers flooded social media with messages of encouragement, with one commenting, “The pain of losing a child is beyond words. God’s grace keeps one going,” while another wrote, “Rest on Angel.” The couple, who welcomed twins, a boy and a girl in 2023, have continued to honor Ifeanyi’s memory, with Davido previously sharing in an emotional CNN interview that he believes their twin son bears a striking resemblance to Ifeanyi, viewing it as a blessing amidst their grief.

‎Chioma’s return to Instagram shows the couple’s enduring love for their late son, whose memory remains a cherished part of their lives.
