CP Hauwa Ibrahim, born on October 28, 1972, in the Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the first female Commissioner of Police in Kano, notably hailing from the North West of Nigeria. Her educational journey began at Fagge Primary School and continued at Government Girls College (GGC) Dala, laying the foundation for her further academic pursuits. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science before advancing her education with a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master of Science in Security and Strategic Studies. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field, demonstrating her commitment to understanding and improving security practices.
Her career in the Nigerian Police Force has been marked by dedication and excellence, leading her through various ranks to become one of the most respected female officers in the country. CP Hauwa Ibrahim’s appointment was officially recognized in a ceremony at the Kano State Government House, where she was honored by His Excellency Governor Abba K. Yusuf.
