Janelle Monáe made a bold fashion statement at the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, wearing a custom sculptural gown by Robert Wun.

The singer and actress attended the gala held on October 17, 2026, in a custom look from Robert Wun’s Fall 2026 Couture collection, styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn.
The gown featured a sequined mermaid silhouette that transitioned from royal blue to black, complete with a pooling train. The standout detail was its oversized, three-dimensional butterfly bodice, with wings extending across her chest and upper body.
Monáe completed the look with sheer opera gloves, metallic blue stiletto nails, and a soft pixie cut accessorized with a delicate butterfly clip, keeping the focus on the dramatic bodice.

Known for her roles in Hidden Figures, Moonlight, and Glass Onion, Monáe has become renowned for her fearless approach to fashion, and her latest red carpet appearance once again showcased her flair for couture drama.
