Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi pays a visit to the Ooni of Ife’s palace
Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi a Presidential aspirant hopeful of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and her campaign team paid a courtesy visit to his imperial majesty, the Ooni of ifé, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) at his palace in ile ifé, Osun state.
This courtesy visit marks another round of Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi’s campaign tour across the country visiting notable personalities including traditional rulers to introduce herself and intimate them on her agenda for Nigeria.
During the visit, the Ooni of Ifé, the spiritual and cultural leader of the Yoruba race expressed his appreciation and admiration for Khadijah’s bravery to contest in the 2023 presidential elections. He noted the importance of the Nigerian youth being interested in politics and governance and the future of the country.
In reaction, Khadijah thanked the Ooni for being very supportive of the younger generation of Nigerians; noting how important it was for the youth(the largest demographic age bracket in Nigeria) to take part in governance and the political process as it affects their age bracket the most, more than any other age bracket in Nigeria.
Khadijah expressed her aspiration to be the answer to the prayers of the silent majority of youth and women in Nigeria that till this day are not adequately heard of or considered in matters or governance.
She emphasized on the fact that the nation needs a leader with the ability to structurally inspire the nation with a heart to offer selfless service to the Nigerian people .
In conclusion the Ooni of Ife enjoined his court to pray for Khadijah Okunnu- Lamidi noting she was a good example of the character of the Yoruba woman.
Khadijah is seeking the party nomination of the SDP as their candidate for President in the 2023 Nigerian general elections. The Social Democratic Party(SDP) is a strong coalition across the Nigerian political space which presents a welfarist social platform. It is accessible to all Nigerians, especially the youth, women, and persons with disability. It is an inclusive platform that attracts credible, competent, and dynamic leaders whose mandate is to unify the Nigerian people and give voice and action to their aspirations.
