A woman has filed for divorce in a Lagos court, accusing her husband of irresponsible behavior that she claims has irreparably damaged their marriage. The petitioner, whose identity remains confidential, alleges that her husband’s actions, including financial mismanagement and neglect of family responsibilities, have created an unfavourable living situation.
According to court documents, the couple, married for several years, began experiencing marital discord due to the husband’s alleged failure to provide for the family and his reckless decision-making. The wife claims that despite repeated attempts to address these issues, her husband’s behavior persisted, leading her to seek legal separation.
“I can no longer endure the stress and uncertainty caused by his actions,” the petitioner stated in her filing. She is requesting dissolution of the marriage and appropriate financial support for herself and their children.
The husband has yet to respond formally to the allegations, and the case is scheduled for a hearing in the coming weeks. Legal experts note that such cases often hinge on evidence of sustained irresponsible conduct that undermines the marital bond.
