First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 500 women in Ekiti State with grants of N50,000 each, totaling N25 million, under the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme.
The initiative, implemented in partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation, aims to boost women’s economic participation and foster financial independence across the state.
During the disbursement event on Friday, Senator Tinubu urged the beneficiaries to invest the funds judiciously, emphasizing the importance of using the grants to create sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The program is designed to support women entrepreneurs, providing them with the financial resources needed to start or scale their ventures.“This initiative reflects our commitment to uplifting women and ensuring they have the tools to thrive economically,” Senator Tinubu said. “I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity and contribute to the growth of your communities.
The partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation shows the initiative’s focus on leveraging private-sector expertise to drive impactful change.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the grants would help them expand businesses, improve household incomes, and create jobs within their communities.
