Identical twins from Lagos, Nigeria, have captured public attention with their extraordinary experiences of receiving marriage proposals, not individually, but as a pair.
The sisters, whose striking resemblance has drawn admiration and curiosity, revealed in a recent interview that men frequently approach them with the unusual request to marry both of them together, a phenomenon they attribute to their inseparable bond and identical appearance.
The twins, who prefer to keep their names private, explained that their synchronized looks and close relationship often lead to lighthearted but persistent proposals. “It’s happened more times than we can count,” one twin said, laughing. “Men see us together, and instead of asking one of us out, they jokingly, or sometimes seriously say they want to marry both of us!” The sisters, both in their mid-20s, shared that these encounters occur in various settings, from social gatherings to casual outings in Lagos’ bustling markets
While the twins find the proposals amusing, they also highlight the deeper connection they share, which they believe fuels the fascination. “We’ve always been close, finishing each other’s sentences and dressing alike since we were kids,” the other twin noted. “People are drawn to that unity, but it’s funny how it translates into these marriage ideas.”
The twins emphasized that they are flattered by the attention but have no intention of entertaining such proposals, focusing instead on their careers and personal aspirations.
