By Prosper Mene

PARIS, FRANCE

Nigeria’s track queen Tobi Amusan once again proved why she is the world’s best in the women’s 100m hurdles after winning the Paris Diamond League in a blistering 12.28 seconds on Friday night.

The 2022 World Champion powered past the field at the Stade Charléty, leaving her rivals behind from the first hurdle. Her time of 12.28s is one of the fastest in the world this season and sends a strong message ahead of the World Championships.

Amusan’s dominant run was met with cheers from the Paris crowd and praise from fans across Nigeria and beyond. The Ogun State-born hurdler has been in fine form this year, consistently running sub-12.50 times.

Speaking after the race, the 28-year-old said she was “happy with the performance” and focused on staying healthy for the rest of the season.

With this win, Amusan continues her reign as Africa’s record holder and a top contender for gold on the global stage.
