Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems lit up the stage at the 2026 BET Awards with a stunning live rendition of her hit song, “What You Need”.
The performance, which took place on Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, was one of the most talked-about moments of the evening. Dressed in a bold, custom outfit, the “Love Me Jeje”star delivered powerful vocals backed by live instrumentation, earning a standing ovation from the crowd.
“What You Need”, a fan-favorite track from her debut album “Born in the Wild”, blends Afrobeats with R&B and soul, a sound Tems has become known for globally.
Fans on social media immediately flooded X and Instagram with praise, calling the set “iconic,” “goosebumps-worthy,” and “proof that Afrobeats is running the world.”
The BET Awards appearance adds to Tems’ growing list of international stages. She has previously performed at Coachella, the Grammys, and the Oscars.
Tems is currently on a global tour and is expected to release new music later this year.
