Omnicom’s Sparks&Honey Appoints Davianne Harris as Chief Client/DEI

Omnicom’s cultural intelligence consultancy has announced Davianne Harris as its new Chief Client Officer & Head of the company’s successful and growing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice.

Marketing Edge gathered that Davianne Harris will be charged with overseeing the client strategy team, overseeing business transformation projects and continuing to grow the consultancy’s DE&I practice, which is now in more demand than ever. She will report directly to and work closely with Founder and CEO, Terry Young.

A rising star in the industry and published thought leader, Harris has spent the last 12 years building and leading strategy teams, tapping into the power of culture to drive impact for her clients, and partnering with global brands like Nike, Google, Vans, Coca-Cola, Target, Red Bull and Disney to future-proof their business and brand models. She joins sparks & honey from Oberland where she served as Partner, Head of Strategy, a role she ascended into after just 10 months with the agency. In that role, she built out the strategy department, secured numerous new business wins for the agency, and led the launch of the agency’s DE&I program, OBER-CHANGE, designed to educate and drive action towards equity internally.

Harris has made major strides in her career and as an advocate for women, BIPOC individuals and the creative class. While at Oberland, she co-authored its inaugural 2021 Purpose Forecast, a report on how brands can integrate impact into the DNA of their work beyond 2020, and the Purpose Tracker, a live roundup of brand campaigns taking a stand for causes greater than themselves. Abu Esther Appointed Wow!lotto Marketing Manager

Fast rising versatile marketing communication professional, Abu Esther has been appointed Marketing Manager for Nigeria’s first-ever Interactive Online Lottery and Gaming Platform, wow!lotto.

 

In her new position, Esther is expected to bring to fore her over six years’ experience in this market to drive the entire launch process of wow!lotto gaming Platform into the Nigerian market and oversee all the marketing activities through the media and other consumer activations, ensuring the brand has a large market share in the lottery and gaming sector in Nigeria.

 

Industry observers believe that this onerous responsibility for Esther who is arguably one of this industry’s youngest marketing coordinators, is a stroll in the park as she had hands-on experience and expertise working on such brands as MainOne,Diageo (Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, Malta Guinness, APNAD PET Launch),Seplat,PwC,Savannah Energy, Lekoil, Total, NSE and Frontier Oil.

 

Esther was also instrumental to the execution and grand success of such groundbreaking campaigns and projects that have become professional reference points as Coca-Cola’s Coke Island Party (that birthed the campaign launch of Coca-Cola’s ‘Taste The Feeling,’), Coke’s ‘Share a Feeling Campaign’ launch (2015 & 2016), GLO CAF, Girl Effect (Girls Connect Initiative), Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (Public Hearing and Sensitization on the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance), SAHCO (IPO), among others.

 

Her foray into fashion and entertainment has also seen her handle such projects as the Ask Series, OUCH, Africa Fashion Roundtable, The Waterside Ikoyi Lagos, Goge Africa, TV Creed, Olorisupergal’s Book Launch and Jaylee to the World (A Drummer vs DJ concert). She has also worked for such celebrities as Waje, Yemi Alade, Jaywon, Meg Otanwa, Joke Silva, Olorisupergal, Jane Michael, Bez, Ycee, HumbleSmith, Drummerboystanleyand DJ Cuppy.

 

Abu Esther has also worked in some of Nigeria’s most reputable agencies including Caritas Communications, C&F NovelliPortelli, Wildflowerand Belfry Africa(where she was the Lead Consultant).

 

Abu Esther is an alumna of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN and the University of Lagos, Unilag, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications, respectively.

Geraldine White:Publicis Groupe’s Chief Diversity Officer

Publicis Groupe has promoted Geraldine White to chief diversity officer. She replaces Ronnie Dickerson Stewart who left the company earlier this year.

It was gathered that she is tasked with leading all U.S. DE&I work with a focus on elevating talent experiences, improving systems, policies and practices and enabling an inclusive environment.

White is reporting to Anne-Gabrielle Heilbronner, member of the directoire and secretary general, with additional reporting lines to Andrew Swinand, CEO of Publicis Creative and Leo Burnett Group and U.S. executive sponsor for DEI.

She has worked at the holding company for 13 years, most recently as Publicis Sapient’s head of diversity and inclusion in North America, where she launched and led the organization’s business resource groups in the region. She also led its global Black talent taskforce, designed to advance equity.

Her focus will be on improving DEI policies and practices for employees and building on the company’s diversity efforts.

Caroline Anyanwu: United Bank for Africa New Board Member

United Bank for Africa group(UBA), the leading pan-African financial services institution has recently  announced the appointment of Mrs. Caroline Anyanwu to its Board of Directors, effective May 19, 2021.

Caroline Anyanwu holds a First-Class degree in Statistics from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria and has worked extensively in the fields of accounting, taxation, credit risk and banking throughout her career of close to four decades. She worked at UBA from 1996-2006, where she held the position of Head, Credit Risk Management. Mrs. Anyanwu also served as the Deputy Managing Director of Diamond Bank with supervisory responsibility for risk management, until her retirement in 2019.

Speaking on the new appointment, UBA Group Chairman, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu said, “We welcome Caroline back to the UBA Group after fifteen years. Dona Tobin: Omnicom’s DDB new Global Chief Marketing Officer

Dona Tobin has been appointed as  the new Global Chief Marketing Officer of Omnicom’s DDB Worldwide.

In her new role, she will be reporting directly to Global CEO Marty O’Halloran. Tobin will oversee all global and North America internal and external corporate communications, including brand management, media relations, corporate social responsibility and cultural communications.

O’Halloran said: “We are thrilled to have Donna joining DDB to help shape our global narrative and connect our refreshed vision with the wider market. Her diversified background and unique understanding of both brand marketing and the advertising agency landscape will be invaluable to our organisation as we invest more in the DDB brand moving forward.”

Tobin brings to her role a diverse set of skills and over 20 years of agency and brand experience in marketing and advertising. Tobin has worked within and led global agencies such as Arnold Worldwide, Grey and VaynerMedia and has extensive experience running global brands and leading marketing, communications, and product development across industries including food and beverage, fashion and toys at companies such as Ocean Spray, Hasbro and WPP’s Kantar.

Most recently she was the EVP of Marketing, Communications, Events and Partnerships at the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) where she led the organization’s new vision, mission, marketing and communications strategies, and the re-imagination of the 4A’s virtual thought leadership events. Tobin’s expansive background in the marketing and communications landscape will inform her approach to this new role.

Coca-Cola Foundation Appoints Saadia Madsbjerg

The Coca Cola Company has announced Saadia Madsbjerg to resume the office of the Vice President of Global Community Affairs for the Coca-Cola Foundation.
She’s expected to join the Company 1st of June as she will be managing the operations of the Foundation which includes Financial Requirements, Grants Making and Regulatory Compliance for Domestic and International Philanthropy.
According to the Chief Communications, Sustainability & Strategic Partnerships Officer at The Coca-Cola Company Bea Perez ” We are thrilled to have someone of her caliber and look forward Saadia building on the great history of the Coca-Cola Foundation.”
 Saadia Madsbjerg in her speech said:  “I’m thrilled to join The Coca-Cola Foundation, which has a built a remarkable legacy over a period of nearly 40 years through giving more than $1 billion to meaningful programs impacting communities worldwide. I look forward to working with the Foundation’s partners and grantees in Atlanta and around the world.”
Madsbjerg is a former managing director of The Rockefeller Foundation, where she led efforts to seed-fund the development and launch of new financial instruments and partnerships designed to channel money from capital markets toward sustainable development.
“Madsbjerg brings years of experience in corporate strategy and philanthropy, as well as in launching and leading sustainable, impact investing programs across public and private sectors to address challenges such as climate change, inequality and humanitarian crises.”
Before joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Madsbjerg was senior vice president for strategic planning at the New York City Economic Development Corp. She led a portfolio of projects focused on transformative opportunities for creating a more equitable and resilient economy.
Madsbjerg also previously worked in the technology sector at Cisco Systems, advising Fortune 500 companies and public sector institutions on how innovative technology could help create new business models and address critical challenges, such as social and economic challenges caused by an aging society.
Prior to Cisco, Madsbjerg was an associate principal at McKinsey & Co., where she advised multinational companies on corporate strategy.
She is also a co author of Making Money Moral, a book that tracks the growth of sustainable and impact investing and features first-hand stories of innovations unlocking private-sector capital to solve critical challenges of the 21st century.
Saadia Madsbjerg , bagged a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Copenhagen Business School. She will be relocating to Atlanta from New York. Madsbjerg will report to Perez and succeeds Helen Price, who retired in 2020.

Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe: Meet Fidelity Bank’s New CEO

Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe is unquestionably the first female MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank since the bank began operations in 1988. However, it is also unquestionable that she has one of the finest professional profiles among its past CEOs.

Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has over 30 years of banking experience and has occupied several significant positions in Standard Chartered Bank, Zenith Bank, and Citizens International Bank. Onyeali-Ikpe’s natural smarts and education have ensured that she flourish in every endeavour and sector of the Nigerian economy: from oil and gas, to manufacturing and exports, to aviation, and real estate.

Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the King’s College, London.
