A female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), identified as Kate Jonathan Akpabio, was kidnapped by armed gunmen in the Rantya community of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, on Monday, May 26, 2025. The abduction occurred around 5:30 a.m., according to security sources and local reports.
The incident has garnered concern among residents and authorities, with security forces swiftly mobilizing a search-and-rescue operation to secure the safe release of the FRSC officer. The attack, reported by counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama, fuels the ongoing security challenges in the region.
Details surrounding the abduction remain limited, with the identity of the gunmen yet to be confirmed.
