Renowned Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I Abaga, has opened up about the crucial role his wife, Eniola Mafe, has played in his career and personal life.
In a revelation on the latest episode of Outside The Box podcast, the 43-year-old music icon described Eniola as his first investor and toughest critic, shedding light on their inspiring partnership.
M.I disclosed that when he began raising funds for his creative agency, TASCK, Eniola was the first to step up with a personal cheque, providing crucial financial backing before any external investors joined. “The very first cheque that came in was from her. She has been the most supportive person in my life,” he shared, emphasizing her early belief in his vision.Beyond financial support, Eniola’s involvement runs deep. The rapper revealed that she actively contributes to his creative process, filming his shows, reviewing designs, and even crafting detailed critiques of his music. “She’ll sometimes give me a ten-page exposé before I have even finished processing an idea,” M.I said with a laugh, highlighting her role as his most honest critic.
Despite her own demanding career, Eniola consistently attends his events, sits in on meetings, and supports his music-making journey. M.I praised her dedication, calling her presence a “gift” that keeps him grounded and motivated.
The couple’s story resonated with fans, who have taken to social media to celebrate their strong bond and mutual support.
M.I continues to solidify his legacy in Nigerian hip-hop, but for Eniola, her role extends beyond the spotlight, proving to be a cornerstone in the rapper’s success both on and off the stage.
