24-Year-Old Nurse Battles Brain Tumor, Seeks N18m for Life-Saving Surgery

By Prosper Mene

A 24-year-old newly graduated nurse, Blessing Enegho, is in a desperate race against time as she fights a diagnosed brain tumor that requires urgent surgerycosting N18 million.

Enegho, who proudly completed her nursing training in April 2025, began experiencing severe pain shortly after her graduation. In November, medical tests confirmed the devastating diagnosis: a brain tumor, an abnormal growth of cells in or around the brain that demands immediate intervention to prevent further complications.

The appeal for financial assistance was made public through a document shared by the Laity Council of the Catholic Church of Transfiguration in Arepo, Ogun State, where Enegho is a member. The statement emphasizes her critical condition: โ€œBlessing Enegho is currently battling a brain tumor and is in urgent need of life-saving surgery. Please consider supporting her during this challenging time. Any amount will go a long way to help Blessing get the surgery and treatment she urgently needs. The total amount needed is N18 million.

Having just embarked on what should have been the start of a promising career in healthcare, Enegho now faces immense physical and financial burdens. Brain tumors can cause debilitating symptoms, including intense pain, and without timely surgical removal or treatment, the prognosis can be grim.

Supporters and well-wishers are urged to contribute to her fundraiser. Donations can be directed through channels provided by her church or family.

This story highlights the challenges many young Nigerians face in accessing specialized medical care, underscoring the need for greater support in healthcare funding.
