Fashion lovers, Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus just raised the bar for traditional weddings.
The stylish couple tied the knot in a ceremony tagged #HookedOnTheFaminus, and their wardrobe did all the talking. From gold brocade to pop-art Vogue prints, they gave us 4 full outfit changes — each one curated by celebrity stylist, The Style Infidel to blend culture, couture, and storytelling.
Look 1: Gold Brocade Royalty
The day opened with classic grandeur.
Kiky came out as the Igbo maiden in a custom Emagine By Bukola gown made with textured gold brocade. The dress had ruby crystal beads, metallic details, and dramatic side draping. She paired it with a red beaded crown, coral beads, and a black ukwu fly-whisk.
Akin matched the energy in a rich brown velvet Deji & Kola agbada with white embroidery. He added layered ivory and coral beads, a feathered cap, and a white ceremonial staff.
Her designer said the look was created to capture “regal, deeply feminine, and unforgettable” Igbo bridal beauty.
Look 2: Vintage Heritage Storytelling
For round two, it was all about history and memory.
Kiky wore Prudential, a sweetheart blouse and wrapper made from a patchwork of vintage Nigerian postage stamps. It had hand-beading, embroidery, and even custom bead portraits of the couple’s faces. She finished it with a pleated pink gele, pearls, and a pink parasol.
Akin went heritage too in a white Deji & Kola tunic over a red, green, and yellow tartan George skirt. He carried a carved walking stick and a vintage pink tasselled umbrella to complete the throwback vibe.
Look 3: Royal Purple Statement
The third change was bold and regal.
Kiky slipped into a deep purple off-shoulder gown by Nichole Stylish with teal and coral geometric appliqués on the bodice and skirt.
Akin answered her with a royal purple Ugo Monye agbada over a bright orange inner tunic. The tunic had traditional Igbo graphics and he layered it with multi-strand coral beads.
It was matching royalty, but make it fashion.
Look 4: Pop-Art After Party
For the after-party, the couple switched to modern streetwear meets high fashion.
Kiky’s second Emagine By Bukola look was a fitted corset mini dress covered in iconic Vogue magazine covers — from Rihanna to Zendaya. The designer said the idea was for her to “wear the archive itself.”
Akin kept it cool in a Deji & Kola graphic button-down with retro magazine prints, dark wide-leg trousers with white stitching, rectangular sunglasses, and light boots
