Yoga & Money Meet-Up: Heirs Insurance Group and United Capital Empower Ambitious Women with Wellness and Wealth Strategies in Lagos

By Prosper Mene

In a unique fusion of self-care and smart financial planning, Heirs Insurance Group and United Capital Plc recently hosted an intimate “Yoga & Money Meet-Up” for a select group of ambitious women in Lagos. The exclusive event, held at the Happiness Center, blended guided yoga, breathwork, and stress-management sessions with expert discussions on insurance, investments, and asset protection.

The initiative highlighted the deep connection between personal wellbeing and financial security, reinforcing both organizations’ commitment to making financial wellness more relevant and accessible to Nigerian women who balance demanding careers, businesses, and family responsibilities.

Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, Chief Marketing Officer at Heirs Insurance Group, emphasized the holistic approach during the event. “Self-care is not just about indulgence; it is about making deliberate choices that safeguard one’s physical, mental, and financial well-being – and insurance is fundamental to that,” she said. “For many women juggling careers, businesses, and family, this event addresses a significant pain-point: how we protect our assets while still juggling life.”

She introduced Heirs Insurance Group’s innovative HerMotor insurance plan, tailored specifically for ambitious female car owners. The comprehensive coverage protects against accidents, fire, theft, and other unforeseen incidents, while offering 24/7 emergency roadside assistance in partnership with AA Rescue. Policyholders also enjoy a robust rewards programme, including discounts on spas, wellness programmes, and more – making it the first-of-its-kind solution in the Nigerian insurance industry.

Dr. Odiri Oginni, Managing Director of United Capital Asset Management, echoed the empowerment theme. “Empowerment is at the core of what we do, and co-creating on an initiative that directly addresses the financial realities facing Nigerian women further emphasises this,” he noted. “We recognise that financial independence and personal wellness are deeply interconnected, and by creating opportunities that bring both together, we are reinforcing our commitment to empowering women to confidently pursue and achieve their dreams.”

Dr. Oginni also spotlighted United Capital’s Wealth for Women Fund, designed to provide women with secure, accessible avenues to invest smartly and build long-term financial security.

The Yoga & Money Meet-Up reflects a shared vision between the two leading financial institutions to equip Nigerian women with both the tools for inner peace and the knowledge for lasting wealth protection. Heirs Insurance Group, a subsidiary of the pan-African investment powerhouse Heirs Holdings, continues to expand its retail and digital offerings across Nigeria. United Capital Plc, a fast-growing Pan-African investment bank with operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire, is recognised by the Financial Times as one of Africa’s fastest-growing companies for three consecutive years.

Through collaborations like this, both firms are redefining financial services by placing women’s holistic success at the centre.
