In an inspirational Story that beautifully blends grace, grit, and generational dreams, the 40th Miss Nigeria, Chioma Amadi (also known as Chioma Tyra Obiadi), has graduated with a Master’s degree in Interior Design from the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the United States.
SCAD is widely regarded as America’s top-ranked institution for interior design, making Amadi’s achievement a significant milestone for Nigerian representation in the global creative industry.

Amadi’s path from the pageant stage in Nigeria to the lecture halls and design studios of SCAD is one of quiet perseverance and deep familial inspiration. In a heartfelt video shared on her journey, she recalled the emotional moment her admission letter arrived. Her mother, speaking in Igbo, told her: “Akụkọ m na-agụghị, i ga-agụ ya times two” — loosely translated as, “All the education that I was unable to get, you will get them two times over.”
This promise became a driving force. Amadi’s graduation fulfills not just her personal ambitions but also a maternal legacy of educational aspiration.
Behind the elegant graduation portraits — featuring Amadi in a structured white corset dress with honor cords, a classic black gown and cap, and bouquets of purple and white hydrangeas — lies intense hard work. The former beauty queen has spoken candidly about the rigorous demands of the program: late nights, extensive projects, cutting presentation boards, and refining intricate design layouts.
Amadi’s accomplishment adds to the growing narrative of Nigerian women excelling on the global stage across diverse fields. As the 40th Miss Nigeria, she continues to inspire many with her elegance and intellect.
Congratulations to Chioma Amadi on this remarkable milestone, Her story is a powerful reminder that beauty and brains go hand in hand, and that with determination, one can bridge continents and redefine possibilities.
