A disturbing case has emerged from Ibadan, Oyo State, where a man identified as Kayode Oluwaseunfunmi has been arrested for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old daughter. The incident, which shocked the local community, was reported in the Oluyole Local Government Area.
The victim, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) student whose name has been withheld, disclosed in an interview that the alleged abuse began in December 2024. Following the death of her mother a decade ago, her father had been the primary caregiver for her and her two siblings. The girl expressed deep emotional turmoil, stating, “I never wanted this to happen. My father has always been my protector since our mother passed away, and I feel so torn inside.”Following an investigation, Oluwaseunfunmi was detained at the Orita Police Station in Challenge, Ibadan, where he is being held for further action. Authorities have not released additional details about the case, but the arrest has caused outrage and calls for justice on social media platforms, with many expressing concern over the rising cases of domestic abuse in the region. This incident follows a troubling pattern of similar cases reported recently, including a man in Cross River State allegedly impregnating his 13-year-old daughter. Community leaders and child welfare advocates are urging stronger measures to protect vulnerable children and prevent such atrocities. The case remains under investigation, with authorities expected to provide updates as legal proceedings continue.
